I am a PhD student at Duke University in the Political Science program where I am studying Methods and Security, Peace, and Conflict. I started the program in the fall of 2011 after working as a software developer at places like Microsoft, WorkSimple, or my own startup Zistle. While programming, I built web crawlers, 3D gaming engines, operating systems, and statistical packages amongst other things.
I am now devoting my efforts to thinking about how to perform Social Science. I am trying to bridge the gap between political science and other disciplines such as computer science or statistics by figuring out how to leverage new technology and tools to get purchase on problems in the political realm. Substantively, I am interested in the way that cyber security threats are changing the security landscape.
